For businesses, Instagram is a fantastic social media platform that allows you to connect with your audience in a more fun and casual way. As a business, it’s important to share content that includes links back to your website, but linking your viewers to content outside of Instagram can be difficult.
Instagram only allows you to share one link in your bio, and you cannot put links in comments or captions. This “Link in bio!” method makes sharing multiple links very difficult as you have to change the link in your bio every time you want to share something from outside of Instagram.
Fortunately, with the help of additional tools, it’s possible to share multiple links and organize them in a way that allows your customers to find exactly what attracted them in the first place! easily,.
Our favorite tool for linking on Instagram is Linktree. It makes sharing lots of links on Instagram simple, and it’s free.
Without this helpful little tool, you’re stuck with the old method of linking on Instagram, so we highly recommend giving it a try.
How to Use Linktree for Linking on Instagram
1. Create and customize your account
Use your Instagram account to sign up for a Linktree account.
Here you will be able to customize the display, which you can choose from a list of theme options.
Unfortunately, Linktree is somewhat limited in how much you can customize the display, but the options available make it easy to find a theme that works with your brand.
Otherwise, you’ll want to upgrade to the Pro version, which will give you more freedom in how much you can customize your branding. This includes removing the Linktree logo from your landing page as well as additional themes. Fortunately, the premium version is only $6 per month!
2. Add links
You can add as many links as you’d like to your Linktree account! Just simply paste your URL and add a Header.
Here you can link to any information you think is relevant, like your homepage, a special-offer landing page, a product offer, your about page, your blog, or any other content that would be of interest to your viewers.
3. Share Linktree link in your bio
Now that you’ve added your links, you will have a Linktree URL that you can post in your bio. Just like the old method, you can use that singular link in your bio to guide your viewers to outside content, but you are no longer limited in how much content you can share through that bio link.
Sharing content over social media is a great way to drive traffic to your website and promote your brand, but each platform has its own advantages and limitations, which means you have to fine-tune your content to fit whatever platform you are using.
Luckily, simple tools like Linktree can help take your social media marketing strategy to the next level, and on a budget too!
